AAMLS is pleased that Dr. Man-Gil Yang, the chair of the organizing committee and his team members have put on a lot of efforts to design the exciting programs for the meeting.

The theme of the meeting is "Scientific Reunification: From Basic to Cutting-edge Medical Laboratory Sciences". On the first day, the program will focus on Lab Safety, POCT, Infection Control and Molecular Biology & Diagnostics. On the second day, the program will focus on Microbiology, Clinical Physiology, Hematology/Laboratory Informatics, Chemistry/Urinalysis, Immunology/Histo-cytology and Blood Banking/Public Health. This is a good opportunity to bring all experts, participants and AAMLS members together, to learn and share experiences and contribute their expertise in clinical diagnosis.

In the new era of technology innovation especially the revolution of detection platform for personalized diagnostics such as NGS, genotyping, pharmacogenetics, metabolomics and tandem mass spectrophotometry. Medical Laboratory Scientist is responsible for the awareness of the analysis and clinical applications from patient's examination results. The industry of in vitro diagnostics has been a major contributor to the medical laboratory science and will continue to motivate the professional to go forward. With the advanced industry of electronic technology and engineering of Korea, the congress surely will make the attendees enjoy and learn the latest technology trends in the exhibition.

Apart from scientific projects, participants will be able to meet new friends, share experiences with each other and benefit enormously in the welcome party, gala night and post conference tour.

It is a great honor for KAMT to be elected as the host association for the 5th Congress of AAMLS in 2017. When it comes to the theme, we have spent much time to debate and amend. Finally, we found the spirit of occupational community with professionalism in our field after thinking deeply about the aims of AAMLS. KAMT would like to provide a wide variety of scientific programs, meetings for peer group talks and cultural activities for AAMLS members to enjoy the congress and feel the vibe of great unification, globalization and win-win strategy in the field of medical laboratory sciences.

AAMLS Congress is a quadrennial regular conference and academic festival wherein you can exchange advanced medical laboratory techniques, various field related research outcomes and extraordinary distinctive ideas from basic to cutting-edge. This will be a great opportunity to anticipate the next ten years of the future in biomedical laboratory science, clinical physiology, cytohistology, biomedical research and laboratory safety against mankind threatening fatal infectious diseases: MERS, Ebola and others. As an example, the Korean government has been currently leading medical health care projects: in vitro diagnostic medical devices which are transdisciplinary fusion between biomedical laboratory sciences, and information and communication technology (ICT) for U-health care system and telemedicine. In addition, a number of seminars, workshops and exhibitions presented by hundreds of medical technologists, professors, researchers and multinational companies from dozens of Asian and western countries, and more than ten thousand biomedical laboratory scientists are eagerly looking forward to meeting you in Busan.

The only thing requested from you is an open mind and a heart happily mingling with your friends from all of Asia.
